Welcome! I'm fairly new to Toronto (I'm right downtown), and I'm looking forward to meeting some girl friends! I started this group because it's been so difficult to find girls with the same interests as me. This group is for fellow girls/women of any age with geeky interests, whether it be comic books, video games, Dungeons & Dragons, even computer programming! Even if you don't necessarily immerse yourself completely in the culture, or prefer not to use that label, if you're interested in any …
Looking to find a group of people of like mind - Watching Sci-Fi movies and shows... Playing RPGs, maybe some computer games... generally a group for people who like getting together in smaller groups I think you know the type...
"If you ask men why they did a good job, they'll say, 'I'm awesome. Obviously. Why are you even asking?' If you ask women why they did a good job, what they'll say is someone helped them, they got lucky, they worked really hard." Sheryl Sandberg If we can't pat ourselves on the back, let's at least create the kind of environment where women can pat each other on the back. We call ourselves "girls" because we're young at heart and we call ourselves "geeks", because we care about the detail, but e …

This is a group for LGBTQ folks who self-identify as nerds/ geeks/ dorks/ freakin' awesome. We'll get together for new superhero movies, have graphic novel book groups, RPGs, board game nights, etc. This group is not for Allies-- though many of the events will be open to Allies-- it's for those who are over Grindr and into geekery.

Simply, a quiz game played in a pub. It's an Anglo-Irish tradition, but our goal is the same: to foster friendly competition, and promote social drinking. A noble cause! Our quiz burns through nearly 70 multimedia questions in two exciting hours. The quizmaster gets to know the players, and smack talk flying around in all directions is pretty much par for the course.

Looking for people to travel through space and time? We'll meet to watch and discuss episodes of our favourite Timelord, and generally geek out a little. Whether you're new to Who, or an honorary Gallifreyan, you're welcome to join us in watching the Doctor save all of time and space.
Boardgames, cardgames, and roleplaying games - We play every game that isn't nailed down - and we probably will play those as well! First, we have our RPG meetups where we play just about every RPG that is known (including Serenity, Call of Cthulhu, Star Wars, and MORE). We also dabble in LARPing. We also play board and card games at our local Panera Bread and Buff State! Games such as Pinochle; Spades; Fluxx; In a Pickle; and a hundred other games that you're sure to love! We also play Euro gam …

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes TVG is back! (albeit under different management) The purpose of the group is to organize video game and/or related events in the Toronto area. (of especial focus will be retro, indie, and/or otherwise obscure/overlooked video games) For the moment it will mostly be big screen tv gaming at the Rovers pub/restaurant, and movie theater/dinner events. So come on out and meet some awesome people whilst taking part in awesome things. Feel free to suggest event …

The main purpose of this meetup is for me to make new friends (hopefully that includes you!). I have attended various meetups and have met many wonderful people and have become close friends with a handful. So this is promising. One problem for me to make more new friends via other meetups is often their schedule doesn't work out for me, and sometimes there is no continuity... you may meet someone interesting and you think you can become good friends but then you don't see them again (or at leas …
